At least the baking smells without the burning incense or fire crackers smell could still provide me with the slightest comfort during this joyous festival. The two cookies on my list were (still are) my favorite delicacy of all - pineapple tarts and peanut cookies. And guess what, I fail miserably. Looking at my activities tomorrow, and that I am still writing this blog at midnight, I do not think I will be baking cookies this year. I'd be glad if I could stick to my reunion dinner menu by dinner time on Sunday evening.

Wish me luck!

Wishing you Happy Chinese New Year and have a prosperous 'Ox' year.

CYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1892877200531794173.post-48747540936517244342008-02-21T13:27:00.000-08:002008-02-21T15:07:08.231-08:00Why I Love Snowy Days?It is a day like this that I love about Indiana: snow as fine as powder, as white as puffy clouds, falling off the sky like sheer curtains, drifted by mild artic wind that is blowing northeastward, blankets the ground in the purest, cleanest and most peaceful form.

It is a day like this that I sit in front of the window, wrapped myself in a warm blanket, sipping a cup of hot chocolate topped with a few full swirls of whipped cream, gazing out of the window, enjoying the beautiful scenery as if I am watching a silent movie.

It is a day like this that I find myself daydreaming by the window seats in the study room, awed by the wonder of mother nature and the formation of the snow flakes, my mind wandering away into my own other world, my eyes following the falling snow flakes with purposeless as if I am in trance.

It is a day like this that makes me forget about my hatred towards the cruel bone-chilling artic winter winds when I walk across the parking lots, my near-accidents when i hit my brakes on the slippery icy roads and my second, third and subsequent guesses on my decision about staying in this cold country. All the questions I have about winter is absolutely well worthy just for a day like this.

I hope by now you understand why I choose here as my home, at least for the next so many years in my short life. It is only now that we get a chance to write this overdue update from us, which should have been completed and sent out to you before Dec 25th 2007, either with a Christmas card or cyberly.

Just like every normal household, a lot has happened in this past year and time just flew by us in the blink of an eye.

CY finally had her house sold in February, after 11 months on the market. It was such a relief to us financially as well as home care responsibility. We continuously consolidated both households and made trips to Goodwill and Salvation Army to eliminate extra furniture and stuff. Since M had lived in his house for 5 years prior to CY moving in, most spaces had been occupied with his stuff. Most of CY’s stuff was stored in M’s garage. When the neighbors saw our garage, they thought that we were preparing for a garage sale!

There were some discussions between us on wanting to upgrade to a bigger house but we thought we could wait for a few years. Not until we were wandering in a new subdivision nearby that the idea of building a custom home of our own sparked into our minds. Things were happening faster than we planned. Soon, we found ourselves talking to the developer about potential lots and meeting with potential home builders.

In April, we decided on a property of close to 1 acre in a subdivision called Devonshire Park in the Parks of Prestwick. For those of you who are familiar with where our homes were, the new property is about 1 mile southwest from either of these homes. Right away, we were thrown into a hectic schedule to meet with different bank loan officers to talk about loan options, and with the builder to develop a blue print so that we could close on the property as soon as possible. After being so overwhelmed with much information and constant decision making, we finally had a blue print and a construction contract in our hands and closed on the property and our imaginary house 8 weeks later.

At the same time, we were working towards preparing M’s house in Ridgehill for sale whenever we were at home. M had been busy with his work and had made a few business trips to Tennessee. CY got to go back to Purdue for 1 week taking MBA classes, which was eye-opening to her. Over a weekend in July, we celebrated M’s dad’s 60th birthday by surprising him with a visit to Newburgh. Everyone had a great time!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNhioSnXTwhgoV3FXOCBtgP59IFII5WkeNYOPNCejyNHJ1lo-bIY5dsPiFxSQUvwgDjoeJ4hGFf_EGDjRb5_jfsbsyFuaTakmhi4tFfNYPhtuox0hVolPxa791NsGr5Y0c2_sl1Xjbj0o6/s200/cynm+at+chimney+rock.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151089780848631906" /> We did also take a 1-week vacation to Asheville, North Carolina to get away from our busy work and home stuff. We had a chance to experience true vegan food which made us realize that we would very much prefer to be carnivores instead. The visits to Chimney Rock Park, parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Smokies were exciting, especially when we were walking up to the Clingman’s Dome in mists and later, descending in cold heavy rain! The trip to Biltmore House was interesting and inspiring, considering that we were in the middle of building our own house. Two weeks later, we also joined M’s family for a few days at Myrtle Beach, South Carolona, which we always enjoy.

Preparing a house to sell is not fun at all. Maintenance and thorough cleaning plus straightening aside, the daily vacuuming, storing things away in the most meticulous way and not able to cook bacon or curry were enough to drive us insane, especially M! But with God’s grace, we did not have to put up with this nuisance for too long. The 2nd day after the house was listed, there were 3 visits scheduled for this house. The first visit took place when we were on our way to Scotland and it was then followed with an offer 3 days later. After numerous counter-offers over the phone in the following week while we were still in Scotland, we later came back to the house with a ‘sold’ sign in the front yard. We were to surrender our house in 2 weeks, which translated to finding a temporary residence and moving there in a short notice. With the help from M’s family, we moved to a 2-bedroom townhouse over the hottest weekend in July. Most our stuff was moved into a single car garage. Piles of remaining boxes and furniture were also cramped into the 1152 sq-ft townhouse. Meanwhile, the construction of our new home had begun.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZWvpPzsRZq4QJqFMZLybmH9igKi9wd7npxQan-Ko6WSjr1UdGHxB3cz62qow3kDNt-QJR_YPZQyHUiWlTSFJ8knW5NxEu3cILoYENHSl4-vzY-es-4zVZ4iXcaCFuUgG27q0ycoJR-FTo/s200/cynm+at+Eileen+Donan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151088642682298450" /> The main purpose of our Scotland trip was to attend CY’s brother’s graduation at University of St. Andrews in the region of Fife. We first met up with her parents and brother and drove around for sight-seeing before returning to St. Andrews for graduation. We departed from Edinburgh and drove northward. We found ourselves tracing the footsteps of the Scottish heroes in the Trossachs region (William Wallace, Rob Roy and Robert the Bruce), lost in awe before the breathtaking views and geological formations when we were at Mull, Skye and Ullapool, and interestingly engaged during a visit to Edradour Whisky Distillery in Aviemore. However, the most fascinating experience during our trip was how we were immensely swept head over heels while standing amongst of the Neolithic ruins at Orkney.

Since July until today, we have spent much of our after-work time and weekends following the construction progress of the new house, exploring our likes and dislikes about house-related items, and making house-related decisions. So far, we have enjoyed every moment of it even though it is very time- and mind-consuming. CY was made fun of because of her ability to think and writing strings of emails to the builder after midnight. The completion target is mid January and we are anxious to move!

In August, we drove up to Joliet for the annual Lewis’ family reunion that was organized by Aunt Lo. We love seeing everyone there and we always have a good time.

Our ferocious cat, Gus is as spoiled as usual. Due to our traveling and moving schedule this year, Gus was sent away to his grandparents’ (M’s parents’) a couple of times. He is definitely being treated well as it shows up in his weight – 18 lbs, up 2 lbs from last year! He seems to adapt really well either at our townhouse or at the grandparents’. He has developed a new habit this year which he likes to sleep on the bed between our feet. Due to CY’s habit of coming to bed later than the others, she often finds that M and Gus have taken up the most of the whole bed!

In December, CY’s youngest sister, CL came to stay with us for at least the next semester while she is going to IUPUI. So far she is adapting to this new environment and is learning how to drive to school in the winter. Let’s just hope that she will make it through her school alright!

There is much for us to look forward to in the coming year. We hope you too have a wonderful year ahead.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz-mTF_Ac0wu_OnY4mPNasm08c3ijV6WncdkLQdnacD3BfUx0bmB4yxlMfavu4a29fZYGZa67YX54oo77OiLmCb0aj9IBsCxfbYsro5PB5tOHYD0lLh9XDyOQCXS6YBU65kkjbWOZV06Yc/s200/Home+Exterior+Dec+07.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5151090184575557746" /> p.s. I am in front of the computer doing my own thing. We are all in our pj's.

I have been in my pj's all day. My throat is sore and dry, mucus keeps running down my nose, my nose is as red as Rudolph's and bleeds when I rub it, my stomach is slightly hurting from too much coughing... Oh yeah, my coughing. It sounds coarse and long as if I am on the verge of loosing all my voice next. And also, the way my shoulder tensed up for half a minute and then let down when I cough requires so much of my energy that it makes me wonder if I am going to spit out all my guts. I can feel the tenseness coming from every piece of my vertebrates. If you have spent enough time with me before, you perhaps are familiar with what I just told you about me.

It is never fair: M caught the flu from his mom but recovered in 2 days. Then it was my turn. Today is the 3rd day and i am feeling worse.

It seems like it is my annual rituals now to get ill in January. Based on historical data, the flu will last for at least a week and my coughing will probably last for 1 month also. I will be considered lucky if I do not have to obtain Z-Pak from my doctor in 1 week or if my voice do not go away. It also seems like there is an atomic clock inside my body that activates my running nose and my headache due to sinus pressure every 4 hours precisely when Sudafed starts wearing off. As a result, I have to drug myself and let drowsiness take over me periodically.

I do not remember the last time my New Year's Eve was so quietly spent at home.

My New Year's Eve is not fun.
But I hope yours will be much better and exciting than mine.

Happy New Year to you. May all your dreams come true in the next year.

p.s. And I am just told that I have missed the countdown, where the crystal ball was dropped in NYC, since I was busy making a bowl of oatmeal in the kitchen.

- written by CY 1/1/08 00:55 a.m.CYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1892877200531794173.post-5369082639909078642007-08-17T16:01:00.000-07:002007-09-13T19:44:51.210-07:00August 2007: Basement Construction 8/7-8/9<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMnBGp29PvQa71Z6kd8B73vn_QeGUaFyXnAKE86wRP0HsEtavTjBTjYIG5SAgAxTM0cgaHamDLb8KgxDR6ERG1fuVqiawMyk4FLcQrgk6VIwBlvhYIZLnjrhxtdHwsnfMKcPqM9b2W6b6s/s200/8-7-07+Forming+Up+the+Basement+Footers.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099809856927036514" />
8/7 Here the footers are being formed to make the foundation for our home.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWDCabt9Dlg5M8m_cGofCPz5rvNyhiMmPexp6JWIk-EmZE9r5Ybyw7Xivyk-7fhlWN8LvdE44fAYp2bR3wRhFhg1fHELSalgYxnEssEEQ6xJAEzBbwjO9OFcYbZPlON-eRcsAu16Ps9FrJ/s200/8-7-07+Fawn+track.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099809960006251634" />
8/7 Even the locals - fawn, went to inspect the progress of the construction!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrIKbp7kKc6tooXOKmVEsJqWXV3R-N6691aclc10zH6Nra_y8KAAHk2j4MlAxJRqpBKdDRrszkgyhAalidfpc0GBZU3ShWnmCW2Xvucpj3Fv2Dck0qFGTGSq5aUm8QmoaNq17hs8hF8EdP/s200/8-8-07+Pouring+Footers.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5099810110330107010" />
8/8 We have concrete! In the last 1 year, we spent our life together in this house after we got married.

We loved spending time on the deck in the wooded backyard;
In late spring, we liked to sit in the sun near the edge of the deck, doing whatever.
In early summer, we liked to sit in the shade, grilling, eating and drinking away.

Another of our favorite (Gus would agree to this) is the sliding door;
In the winter, Gus will spend all day staring through the glass door watching for signs of other critters. Any slight movements of any sort would not escape his eyes. He would normally growl so ferociously when he sighted any intruders.

I hope the birds in the backyard woods will miss us. M is always very generous about feeding the birds in the winter - we had 3 bird feeders! However, I think the squirrels would miss him more since they are so notorious about stealing birds' feed. In the summer, we normally feed the hummingbirds by the daylilies.

We will miss our yard, back deck, trees, cardinals, squirrels and chipmunks when we move into the little teenie weenie townhome.

At the same time, according to CY's-oh-so-optimistic-mom, "The new thing won't come if the old thing does not go".

I promise you, we are up to something!

Below pictures:
(left) Loading the little red truck to be sent to M's dad for repair.
(right) messy townhome!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpOt5K-cZ2FC30CWjv2t4dZgPv2cFoLfX5uk0ODVdcEMsFdNiCknirO4bV7ckdAkWUduVeEA_V2QAm6AwxVn-cgvEfZxLii-pLOVFgppyLNsq9lWpdHIM3ovWnLioz5yMNYFwsBTr09ufa/s200/Settlers+Run+toward+Kitchen-2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5096885364002907746" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijfe3rVht2vBNRUQ6LzmVC_rvleTFjAgVwIajh7X0ykB5Q_lDG7Qh-RtLIUiQeHGf1R08Fn4_83hJ-9sBidIl4XsdP9lw8MaGbEqPI2zpkDORuXYGdepgwO3PPePljTSy9kOJ9WW8OvkN8/s200/Loading+Red+Truck.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5096884401930233410" />CYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1892877200531794173.post-54340928717371187472007-08-07T16:56:00.000-07:002007-08-07T19:18:31.449-07:00June 2007: Asheville, NC Part II<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5HiThILfggq_igh5uVDcyYzTqf1gqPlhgGP2S83rprcYF_a8QBCCD_0xuUntp1QmXCyprBB1qdMpkL__qLnAXnwr3tJFRqZnYgmnikbuI99qLH1-7p3zuD85rHWHIWlS95U6YIdaY1cK4/s200/Big+Rocks.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5096147673305048626" />

M was tasked to be the activity planner for this trip since CY was taking on the same task for the next big trip. Yes, this household is all about 'equality' and 'partnership'.

We spent the first day at Chimney Rock Park. It is a privately owned park south Asheville, NC. The highlights of this location is the Chimney Rock, a big rock (monolith) standing by itself due to errosion. It stands 315-ft and the views from there is breathtaking.

We spent all day hiking all the trails. The ones at the higher elevations, namely the Skyline-Cliff Trail Loop were quite rugged and it took us about 2 hours to make the loop. At the end of the Skyline Trail is the view of the upstream of the Hickory Nuts Waterfall on open rocks. Then we returned to the Chimney Rock on the Cliff Trails where the Last of the Mohicans was filmed (the chasing scene at the end of the film). The coolest but also the most tiring trail is the Outcropping Trail which actually consists of multiple short trails that are around and below the Chimney Rock such as Needles Eye, Subway and Spiral Stairs. These trails are mostly wooden steps running through the cracks of the rocks, either straigh up or down or encircling some cool rock formation. Along these trails, there are overlook points that offer nice panaromic views of the area and also interesting natural phenomenon. The easiest trail was the Hickory Nut Falls trail. At the end of the 30-minutes hike is the rewarding spectacular view of the Falls.

Half way between Asheville and Chimney Rock Park lies the Eastern Continental Divide. M is working towards a goal to take a picture of himself in front of every of these signs that he could possibly find.

There is more pictures at our multiply site: (somehow the link icon does not work - does anyone know how to insert a hot link?)

http://angcy.multiply.com/photos/album/4/June_2007_Asheville_NC_Chimney_Rock_Park

CYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1892877200531794173.post-88182310237618936882007-08-05T19:28:00.000-07:002007-08-07T18:58:32.246-07:00June 2007: Asheville, NC Part IWe were looking for a place to spend our first vacation together sometime early Spring. We wanted somewhere within driving distance, somewhere that offers short hiking trails and mountain bike trails. While looking up the directory, we decided on Asheville, North Carolina.

Mid May, on a pleasant Sunday morning, with our luggages and m-bikes, we headed south east towards Asheville.

The drive from Indy to Knoxville through Louisville was uneventful. After Knoxville, the scenery became more scenic. We passed by a place called "Stinky Creek". At this time, we were driving along part of the Smokies Mountain Range. It was surrounded by hills, and actually quite homey - very similar to Karak highway from KL to CY's home town.

We stayed at Crowne Plaza Golf Resorts just off the Interstate one exit away from the Asheville Downtown exit. It is on top of a small hills and surrounded by its own golf course. Our unit is a cute round hut-looking chalet and is tucked even further away from the traffic.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_0Hv93JsyeTh_QGTrOYM-hVMBT20qsCGTh8YB9uIcrpjuDs5kLIIoNOyoRUEB_XB_NZwTK1IVR-NzgTN3HweJ3aFtHi6fohb8x3wMHqNPLv5dmJ7_zADJEYTB2_MsKeeux3fdSLeqI024/s200/Crowne+Plaza+Resort+Ashville.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5096111466730743250" />CYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1892877200531794173.post-3214563020474402062007-07-20T22:18:00.001-07:002007-08-05T19:28:15.942-07:00Lazy or Busy - Which Is a Better Excuse?It is July 21 at 1:33 a.m.
I just got back from B&N, with the very last book of the Harry Potter series still in the bag, together with all the freebies I got tonight, including a graduation tassel that supposedly meant "Congratulations, you've made it to the seventh book!".

I must say I am quite impressed with the way these book store giants are running these events. We were there at 6:30 p.m. to pick up a number that enabled us to be at the beginning of (another) queue starting at 11 p.m. But at 7p.m. the party began where there were plenty of activitiy booths around. The ideas were pretty creative, such as at Transfiguration booth, you could get a free face paints. I only took a guess at the amount of jelly beans in the jar. Trust me.

My goal was to read this book tonight and finish it by Sunday.

But I am writing my blog - and loading pictures to our multiply site, and trying to re-label some of the pictures, and kind of feeling sleepy at the same time ... M's probably sound asleep and probably did not even know that I'd made it home.

Looking back, the last posting was right after Easter on April 10.

In the last 3 months and 11 days and 2 hours and 46 seconds, a lot had happened to the us. But we did not blog about it. Some of my friends began to wonder if we were still alive; some of them were curious if we had decided to quit blogging. As usual, I just casually used "we have been extremely busy" as our excuse - the same reason I used for most everything.

I took it for granted that it is more forgiving to the others if I used "busy" as my reason. Everyone understands what busy means and has first hand experience themselves. On the contrary, if I used "lazy", my parents would be the first person on earth to give me a hard time and possibly nag me for being so. Or they would think that we care too little about the others to share our lifes with them. The impression is that "lazy" is a bad habit and we are not supposed to be "lazy".

This is my take on this: if I am lazy but it is not affecting the others, then lazy is not a bad thing after all. In fact, it is an enjoyment at times. Just like how I sometimes like to laze around in bed on Saturday mornings, take a 3-hour-nap on Sunday afternoon, bum around in the house in jammies all day...

So will you excuse me if I tell you that I was, in fact for a while, too lazy to blog?CYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1892877200531794173.post-75218152068404893342007-04-10T19:37:00.000-07:002007-04-10T19:40:37.894-07:00Easter Egg Hunt<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZAvxiLdXsp-rga3xBFJo3P_7NP-roZTgB-750h1lDSG8hKv0T8-EZVhF4cpdx2kgKSJBc5fS7IWWITgsCLmxCweS910Z27jm9wi1LMV2Glr0ZtybGHxzIhXDEbjdTSX54uOSWKHEI0SWd/s200/DSCN3226.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051994913990707298" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0EvFnupJjDt2VzVn0icJnEG8oXwCoI0f7vW1s8dDx9fHAlK8WEawTwwQ3fW8Fxlp_TRVVeiXEHQ06GpDh76ctKB0YB6HGcEPxA7hOGPOyoh1I1fjt8O8jg6m4NSyNLx0M_BD86RbpqVZ-/s200/DSCN3227.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051994918285674610" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOPAGjV5taSBnA8ErGAI_aDGNGMA4VLAPuwL2nRKH5B072F5TdkxkObvOiVOYnCyDFOZlMNvOjGS2sGDx8lGFXe4WitxWCaGFi_A87Rl_RQXrKCkA0Rt9jhyphenhyphengkGuPeTzbyI2OKeCmPqd1Y/s200/DSCN3225.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051994922580641922" />
Easter Sunday 2007
Chilly, Cloudy, 30's
Aren't they just too adorable?CYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1892877200531794173.post-65953775791207145542007-04-03T19:41:00.000-07:002007-04-03T19:47:53.809-07:00First Catch of The Year<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0wMpXNEQ46BE3ebLSVubSMkFzGSmtYRK9_09PeNWJhMYTItZLCMgur6RkhTpN49knGoPUtmkJdYFO4cUYx-MXHsWcRyzPbvrXt_PPMxIaXSGI84DOGIUTeOfzMN6LOfrKWUpvFRyIxkcL/s400/fish+4-2-07.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5049399049189165458" />

Well, that's 3 meals for the family!!
Gus: Fish. Counting with my fingers one by one, beginning with my sister & youngest sister, my brother, my cousin/s, my uncle, my college friends, my friend's second cousin's son et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

It took me half a year to catch on to the idea of exposing myself nakedly on the world wide web to some strangers across the ocean or maybe even next door. Nakedly, in the sense of emotion.
Then, on several occasions, a friend told me that this could be the most convenient way to keep in touch with friends & family without having to find much time to email everyone individually, or flooding everyone's email accounts with terabytes of pictures that take forever to upload. Not to mention the torture deep within myself from the expectations that built up towards friends & family to sympathetically respond to my emails. Half of the time, it is followed by another dissapointment, which, actually becomes a super-excitement when a reply does show up in the vast junk mails that I do get nowadays.

My friend's theory was proven lately with a cousin leaving home to pursue her dream to study abroad. So I gave blogging some more thoughts.

My hesitance mainly lies in the fact that I just simply can't find any time and patience to put my thoughts on paper as I used to be anymore. I have always liked to keep a journal but I don't remember when the last time I consistently wrote for 3 days in a row. Contradictingly, I can organize my thoughts and express it flawlessly (well, most of the time) in words through typing - thanks to the nature of my job where I spend two-third of my time organizing my facts/arguments/angers/suggestions/opinions and express them in emails. It is so bad that I no longer can do the same if I were to write down any thoughts with a piece of paper and a pen. Worst still, my handwriting is just like .... according to my (retired) teacher/school-principle-mother, a 3rd grader!! (To comfort myself, mother did say my brother's handwriting is like a 1st grader.) Haha!

After more thoughts and discussions with my beloved hubby, we thought (yes, it is a 'we' thing) with all that is going on and more to come in our lifes, this could be very well the 'least complicated' (?) way to share our lifes with our friends & family, nearby or far-away.

Pardon us for we don't write like neither a novelist nor a poet
Pardon us for we don't take pictures like Ansel Adams
But our intention is pure,
is to share our lifes with you,
is to keep us close to you..
For all we have in this life time is to love and to share.

So, to blog or not to blog? We chose 'to blog'.

Written by CY @ cool breezy pseudo-spring night while M is traveling for business & Gus is locked out from the office roomCYnMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10478960898866309990noreply@blogger.com4
